Nicolò Cinotti is the Secretary General of the International poultry Council starting from 1st January 2020.
Nicolò graduated in Veterinary Medicine at the University of Bologna in 2009 and before concluding his study he spent a year in the prestigious Tierärztliche Hochschule Hannover, being recipient of an “Erasmus project” scholarship. After that, he got a specialization in Animal Health, livestock and livestock products from the University of Pisa.
His first career experience was a year of training as a lab veterinarian in virologic and microbiologic diagnostics, following which he spent three year at the Ministry of Health in Italy, Direction General of Animal Health and Veterinary medicines, dealing with Animal Welfare related issues for different species. He has most recently held the position of Policy Advisor at Unaitalia (Italian Poultry Producers Association) for seven years where he led lobbying activities on technical issues both at national and EU level, and was responsible for export-related matters. He has also represented the Italian poultry sector at a number of high-level conferences and on television.
A native Italian speaker, he is also fluent in English and has an elementary knowledge of German.
